Accounts and security
Two-factor authentication
Protect your account with a code from an authenticator app, and keep your recovery codes.
Two-factor authentication (2FA) asks for a code from an authenticator app on your phone each time you log in, as well as your password. Someone who learns your password still cannot get in.
Turn it on
- Go to Settings, Security and press Turn on 2FA. You may be asked to confirm your password.
- Scan the QR code with an authenticator app, or type the setup key shown under it.
- Enter the 6-digit code the app shows and press Confirm.
We email you whenever two-factor authentication is turned on or off.
Recovery codes
Recovery codes let you log in if you lose your phone. Each code works once. Press View recovery codes and keep them somewhere safe, such as a password manager. Regenerate codes makes a new set and the old ones stop working.
Logging in with 2FA
After your password, enter the 6-digit code from your app. Without your phone, choose Use a recovery code instead.
Turn it off
In Settings, Security, press Turn off 2FA and confirm with your password.
Lost your phone and your codes
Without your phone and without a recovery code we cannot let you in automatically. Write to us from the email address of the account: see Contact.
