Page addresses and aliases
Your page’s address, changing it, and extra addresses (aliases).
Every page has one primary alias: its main address, such as beseen.bio/yourname. A page can also have up to 3 additional aliases: other addresses that open the same page. Your account has up to 4 aliases in all, every page’s primary alias included, so with Premium your two pages share them.
With two pages you choose what each alias opens, in Settings, Aliases: one of your pages, or Both. Both (Premium) shows your selection page: visitors see both pages side by side and pick one. Each page then opens at an address like beseen.bio/yourname/pagename, which you can share as it is. If the page an alias opens is not public, the other one opens instead. Your account number, beseen.bio/id/12, is not an alias: with Premium and two public pages it always shows the selection page, and it never counts towards your aliases. Choose the selection page's background on My pages, Selection page.
Where to manage them
Open a page in the editor and choose the Aliases section. Changes there save at once. Settings, Aliases lists every address your account owns, across all your pages.
Rename an address
Renaming is free and takes effect at once. The old name stops working straight away: links, bios and QR codes that use it break, and someone else may claim it. Update the places where you shared it.
The rules for a name are the same as when you created the page: 3 to 30 lowercase letters, numbers, dots, dashes or underscores, starting and ending with a letter or a number, not taken and not reserved.
Change which one is primary
Use Make primary on another alias. A page always keeps one primary alias, so to remove the current one, make another one primary first. Detach from page takes an additional alias off a page without deleting it.
Extra aliases
An extra alias is bought in the Shop with BeSeen Coins, the rewards you earn for bug reports and suggestions, and lasts 12 months by default (the Shop shows the current term). It does not renew by itself: renew it in the Shop to keep it. Renewing early adds the new term to the current end date.
We remind you in the bell 30 days and 7 days before an alias ends. If you do not renew it, the alias stops opening your page, and we hold it for you for 30 days. During that time nobody else can register, claim or rename to it, and you can reclaim it for free in the Aliases section or in Settings. After that, it is released and anyone can take it. Your page’s primary alias is always free and never runs out.
Protect an alias
Protection keeps one alias yours for 7 or 30 days, renewable, even when no page uses it. While it runs, nobody else can claim it, register it or rename to it, and an alias of yours with that name does not run out. Press Protect in the editor or Protect an alias in the Shop, choose one of your aliases or type another, then choose 7 or 30 days. The price depends on the length of the alias (short names cost more, at the same rate as Premium: about 5 euros is 100 coins) and you can pay with coins or by card. One and two letter aliases can only be protected by the account that already owns them. A protected name that no alias of yours uses is only kept for you: it opens nothing and does not use one of your page’s extra aliases, and an account can hold only a few of those unused names. After you buy protection for a name you cannot buy it again for a while (7 days after a 30 day purchase, 1 day after a 7 day one).
